A big thank you to everyone who helped make the Ottawa Fall Quilt Bee such a success this year. We had about 30 attendees at the Bee and together managed to finish over 65 “Brave and Bold” blocks. In total we received 5 finished quilts, 8 quilt tops and 10 completed kits during the Bee. We spent the day sewing blocks, signing out kits for making quilt tops, sewed on bindings and labels and shopping at the very successful garage sale. The highlight of the day was of course the presentations of quilts of valour to three very deserving veterans.
We hope everyone had a great time and that you will join us again next year. In the meantime we have regular sew days; the next one is coming up soon on December 2nd at Orleans United Church (9:30 – 3:30).
We are always looking for quilters and other volunteers. If you would like to do some quilting for us, or if you would like to participate in a sew day, please get in touch. If you are already one of our wonderful volunteers, don’t hesitate to mention us to your quilting friends!
