Help Wanted for Fall Shows

We have two quilt shows coming up in September: Almonte Fibrefest and the Richmond Fall Fair. Could you help us staff the QOVC information desk at one or both of these?  Your duties would include answering questions about Quilts of Valour (Canada), helping people to join our merry band of quilters and accepting donations.

The Almonte Fibrefest is being held For Sept 7 and 8, at the Mississippi Textile Museum and the Almonte Community Centre.  We need people to staff the table in four-hour shifts from 10am – 2pm or 2pm to 5pm(Saturday), 4pm (Sunday).

The Richmond Fall Fair, runs from September 19th to 22 in the Richmond Arena Hall.  The display area will be open from noon Friday to 7pm, noon Saturday to 5pm and noon Sunday to 3:30pm.  We especially need staffing on Friday (early noon to 3:30; late 3:30 – 7).  If you staff the table, you will have free entrance to the fair for that day.

If you can help, please add a comment or send me an email with your preferred hours.  (nancy.arbogast@quiltsofvalour.ca)

Thanks for your support.

Fall Quilt Bee and Garage Sale

I hope you have marked your calendar. This year’s fall bee will take place on November 9 at the Orleans United Church from 9:30 to 3:30.

For the last two years, the garage sale has been a popular component and successful fundraiser at the Bee.  This year, Marian Rickey will be the ring-master of the garage sale.  We need your saleable items (the “what-was-I -thinking” fabric, the ‘organizers’ that you are too organized to need, the third duplicate tool, ….). Items can be quilting related, but don’t have to be.  Please contact Marian to arrange a time to get the items to her well before the garage sale so that everything can be priced and organized: rickeyem@rogers.com.

Nothing like a garage sale to pick up a few bargains.Upcoming Events

Call for Cutters

Hi Team,

Robbie, Sue and I spent this afternoon bundling up fabrics to be cut into kits that can be signed out at the fall bee. Now we need some helpers to take our bundles and cut/organize the strips into kits.  If you can take a bundle or two, please respond in the comments below or drop me an email (nancy.arbogast@quiltsofvalour.ca).
