Thank You AND Quilt On!

Hello my fellow QOVC quilters,

Nancy Arbogast will be leaving us…okay only for a month while she travels someplace warmer than our dear Ottawa.  In the mean time, she asked me if I could take care of the blog!!!  Can you imagine?  Me using technology successfully (technology and I fight all the time!).  As a result, here is my blog for the upcoming month.
We are booked into Orleans United Church for the next couple of months for QOVC Sew Days.  Please mark 11 February and 11 March on your calendars and join us for a day of sewing.  Last month there was a crew of 10 people and we all worked on the Light in the Window block, celebrating our 10th anniversary of being a charitable organization.  We managed to complete a quilt top and 42 extra blocks!  Only 6 more and we have yet another top ready for the quilt machines!  During the next two months we will continue to work on this project. I would love to have a lovely collection for Quilt Canada in June and then the quilts will be presented to our injured military members.
I hope you will be able to join us on one or both dates.  The time we spend together working on such a cause is good for our mental health as well as the mental health of our recipients.

Yours in stitches,
Robbie Chapman

13 April Drop Swap and Sew

Thank you to the quilters who braved Wednesday’s weather warnings to join us at Confederation Education Centre. We stitched more blocks and cut more kits for next time.

Sew Day on April 8 will be held in Room 118 of the Confederation Education Centre.  Thank you to the support of the Ottawa Public Educators Retirees’ Association.
